The truth behind the poster

“Report All Squirrels”
Pointing is the GSP's job description. Bred to find birds and freeze, nose aimed at the game until the hunter catches up, many will lock up the same way on a squirrel in the yard: rigid body, tail out, one front paw raised. Nobody teaches the first point; training only teaches them to hold it.
