The truth behind the poster

“Dig for Victory”
Dachshund means "badger dog" in German: the breed was made to dig into burrows after badgers, with strong front paws and a long, low body built for tunnels. The urge to dig never left. A sandbox or a corner of the garden where digging is allowed, with toys buried in it, saves the flower beds.
