The truth behind the poster
- “It happens every day. It is always an emergency.”
- German Shepherds were bred to guard and herd, so a stranger walking up to the house is exactly what they are wired to report. The mailman comes every day, the barking works every time (he leaves!), and so the habit grows. Calm praise for quiet and a treat when the mail arrives can turn the emergency into a routine.
