The truth behind the poster

“Nose: Found the treat stash. Opened it.”
Poodles were bred in Germany as water retrievers: the name comes from the old German word for splashing, and the famous show clip once kept their joints warm in cold water. They are among the most intelligent breeds and need daily mental work, or they invent their own. The curly coat sheds very little but never stops growing, so plan on professional grooming every 4 to 6 weeks and brushing at home to prevent mats. Low shedding helps many allergy sufferers, but no dog is truly hypoallergenic.
